A Typical Reflexology Session
Generally speaking a Reflexology session will last about 45-50 minutes, although the initial treatment will take a little longer - about 75 minutes - due to the need to complete a confidential assessment and consultation. The Consultation
This involves taking down personal details, which form the basis of your own confidential Reflexology records.
In addition to your name, address, age, lifestyle and etc, I will also require details of your GP (in case we need to correspond) and a concise medical history, which will form the basis of your tailored treatment plan. This is why the first treatment always takes longer than subsequent sessions.
The Treatment
Once you have been made comfortable I commence with a number of moves designed to relax the foot and, thereby, prepare the mind and body for the treatment to come.
I would make, via the feet, a 'broad sweep' of the body and its systems before concentrating on any areas requiring further attention, as suggested either by the consultation or the initial 'sweep' - or both.
A treatment always concludes with another series of relaxation moves - which is akin to an athlete's 'warm-down' after a race - and you will be encouraged to drink plenty of water.
Most people find that a treatment passes very quickly. The more relaxed the patient the faster the session will seem to pass - and the more receptive the body will be to the treatment.
